Who We Are

Utilities and Service Industries Training Limited (USIT) is a charity providing grants and bursaries for education and training for the utilities industries. USIT was established on 7th July 2004 after the sale of the assets and business of WTI.

The objectives of the charity are "to advance education and training in the water industry for the public benefit, primarily in the water industry, but also, in addition, in other public utilities, the service industries and government departments and agencies."

The charity is managed by five trustees, first appointed in 2006, who care about the future of the utilities industries and are committed to supporting education and training. Each of the trustees has a senior position in IWO, the Institution of Water Officers, a professional body with an ethos closely aligned to the objectives of USIT.

The trustees are assisted by Bob Hodge as Company Secretary. Bob has a long history with the forerunners to USIT, including 15 years as Managing Director of WTI.
