Martin joined Severn Trent Water in 1975 and has been involved in the design, construction and operation of water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution networks and sewerage systems over the last 32 years. He was appointed to his current position in May 2006 and prior to that was Director of Engineering.
Martin holds a degree in Civil Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Environmentalist, a Fellow of IWO, a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Member of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management. He is a Guarantor of the International Society for Trenchless Technology and is a Director of UKWIR. He is an active member of the IWO Midlands Area and a former Area President.
Tony Cooke
Managing Director
Bournemouth and West Hampshire Water Plc
Tony was appointed Managing Director of Bournemouth and West Hampshire Water in 1991. The company was the first in the sector to achieve Investors in People. Tony is an economist - he holds a BA Honours in Economics - and professional general manager by background. Before joining the water industry he held general management positions with Morgan Crucible, Gould Inc USA, Coates Brothers plc and Siebe plc.
Tony is a former National President of IWO (2003/04), a former President of IWO South West Area and was one of the first to be awarded the Chartered Environmentalist designation through IWO. He is a Fellow Member of IWO and a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management.
Brian Buckley
Metering Systems Consultant
Brian left Three Valleys Water in 2005 after 25 years in the water industry. From a background in Productivity Services, he switched to Metering in 1991 and has been actively involved in a range of Metering groups ever since.
Brian is a fromer National Chairman of IWO and a former Chairman of IWO Eastern Area. He is a member of the IWO Engineering Board and represents IWO on the Professional Development Forum of the Engineering Council.
Brian has a Diploma in Management Services, is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Services and a Fellow Member of IWO.
Lynn Cooper
Chief Executive
Institution of Water Officers
Lynn joined IWO as General Secretary in 1997, with 14 years experience as an accountant in the water industry. Lynn has a BA in Accountancy, is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, a Chartered Environmentalist and an Honorary Member of IWO.
Lynn is Honorary Treasurer and a Board Member of The Society for the Environment and is Company Secretary and a director of IWA UK Committee.

Bob Hodge
Bob was introduced to the water industry in 1973 as an engineer with Milton Keynes Development Corporation following design and site experience with consulting engineers. After a brief spell with Anglian Water he moved to the National Water Council as Training Adviser in 1976. Seven years later, the abolition of the National Water Council led to the formation of the Water Industry Training Association, with Bob as Finance and Administration Manager. He was appointed Managing Director in 1990 and held this position until his retirement in 2005.
Bob has an Honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management. He is an Honorary Member and a former National President (1998/99) of IWO.
